Two fatal accidents claim lives of 22-year-olds in Italy

A 22-year-old driver, Matteo F. from Riva del Po, died on July 5 after his car veered off and plunged into the Poazzo canal in Canaro, Rovigo province, Veneto. The vehicle was completely destroyed and rescuers retrieved his body using an automotive crane and divers from the fire service.

A day later, a 22-year-old woman from Salerno suffered severe injuries when a fence beside a pool at a summer house in Montecorice, Cilento, collapsed, causing her to fall about three metres. She was air‑lifted by an emergency helicopter to the San Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi d’Aragona hospital in Salerno for treatment. Police and municipal authorities opened investigations into the structural failure.
