Two fatal traffic collisions reported in Brazil

A 30‑year‑old man, Antônio Francisco Pereira de Almeida, died after his motorcycle collided with a Fiat Strada in the Aeroporto neighbourhood of Teresina, Piauí, on the night of 5 May. Police said the motorcyclist ran a stop sign, was traveling at excessive speed and did not possess a driver's licence. The car driver was unharmed and emergency services transported the victim’s body to the Institute of Forensic Medicine.

On the same day in Boa Vista, Roraima, 27‑year‑old Francisco Renato Castro Santos was killed when his Honda CG 160 Start motorcycle struck a Fiat Fiorino Endurance at an unsignalled intersection in the Equatorial district. The car driver, a 38‑year‑old man, suffered a head injury and was taken to the General Hospital. Santos received CPR for about an hour but did not survive; his body was also taken to the local forensic institute. Both accidents were forwarded to the respective traffic accident police departments for investigation.
