Greece reports multiple fatal road accidents in June 2026

A series of serious road accidents occurred across Greece in late June 2026.

In the Antirrio‑Naousa corridor, a car and a high‑engine‑capacity motorcycle collided. The motorcyclist was thrown about 15 metres, suffered injuries to his lower limbs and hands and was taken to the Saint Andrew Hospital in Patras. No deaths were reported.

On the old road between Vasiliki and Theopetra in Kalambaka, a car left the road and struck a non‑electrified wooden electricity‑pole. The impact killed a 22‑year‑old passenger on the spot; the 23‑year‑old driver was seriously injured and remains in intensive care at the General Hospital of Trikala.

In Barybombi, a vehicle lost control near a road split, hit a wall and burst into flames. The driver was rescued unconscious and later died from his injuries. The wreck was reduced to an iron mass and the site was cleared by fire‑brigade crews.

These incidents together resulted in at least two deaths and several serious injuries, prompting investigations by local traffic police into the causes of each crash.
