Anita Peralta, 14, dies from injuries after deadly Ruta 88 crash

A severe traffic collision occurred on Ruta 88 near Mar del Plata when a truck with a semi‑trailer struck a passenger‑car that was providing remís service. The driver of the car and the remís driver were killed at the scene. Fourteen‑year‑old Anita "Anita" Peralta was gravely injured, was taken to the Hospital Interzonal General de Agudos in Mar del Plata and later died during the early hours of Thursday.

The accident sparked a wave of community support, with vigils and prayer chains organized in Necochea, Mar del Plata and surrounding towns. Authorities continue to investigate the causes of the crash and the case remains under judicial review.
