Two Fatal Traffic Accidents in Greece Claim Lives of 18‑Year‑Old and 48‑Year‑Old
Two separate traffic accidents occurred within hours in northern Greece, killing an 18‑year‑old motorcyclist in Draviskos, Serres, and a 48‑year‑old truck driver on the Katerini‑Sfendami provincial road in Pieria.
The Serres crash happened around 20:30 when the young rider lost control of his two‑wheeled vehicle under undetermined conditions and later died at General Hospital of Serres. Police from the New Zichni precinct are investigating the cause.
A few hours later, at about 01:20, the Pieria incident involved a 48‑year‑old driver of an I‑H truck who veered off the road and struck two wooden telecommunication poles. He was rescued by fire‑fighters but was pronounced dead at General Hospital of Katerini. The Pydna‑Kolindros police precinct is leading the inquiry.
