Two fatal water accidents occur in Pará, Brazil
Ricardo Oliveira, the manager of a ferry crossing in Acará, Pará, died after falling into the river while on duty during the early hours of Saturday. Search teams that included firefighters and divers recovered his body, and the ferry service was temporarily suspended while authorities investigate the circumstances of the fall.
Vinícius Gomes de Lima, a 26‑year‑old cinematographer from Alagoas, was killed when the boat transporting his cultural‑documentation team capsized on the Rio Trombeta near Oriximiná, Pará. Local quilombola residents found his body the following morning, prompting the cancellation of the project's activities in the region and an official investigation into the accident.
