Two former PSOs of Zubeen Garg granted bail in assets case

A special judge’s court has granted bail to Paresh Baishya and Nandeshwar Bora, two former personal security officers (PSOs) for singer Zubeen Garg, in a disproportionate assets case. The case was initiated by the Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell following investigations into bank transactions exceeding Rs 1.1 crore, which officials noted were significantly higher than the officers' known salary incomes.

The court granted the bail after noting alleged procedural lapses by investigating authorities. Specifically, the court observed that investigators failed to comply with mandatory arrest procedures under Sections 47 and 48 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

Despite receiving bail in the assets case, both individuals will remain in custody as they are also being held in connection with a separate investigation regarding the death of Zubeen Garg.
