Niterói: 19-year-old woman dies after serious traffic accident

Mayara Gonçalves Ferreira, a 19-year-old woman, has died following a serious traffic accident in the Fonseca neighborhood of Niterói, Rio de Janeiro.

The accident occurred on Thursday, October 10, on Alameda São Boaventura near a McDonald’s. Ferreira sustained severe injuries, specifically to one of her legs, and was transported to the Hospital Estadual Azevedo Lima. During her hospitalization, friends and family organized a blood donation campaign to support her medical treatment.

Despite medical efforts and community mobilization, she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday afternoon, October 12. Her family expressed gratitude for the support and prayers received during her period of hospitalization.
