Two injured in flight school plane crash in Viana

Two people were injured on Sunday morning after a small aircraft crashed in a field in Viana, Navarra. The aircraft, a twin-engine plane operated by the FlyBy flight school, had departed from the Agoncillo airport in La Rioja.

The accident occurred in the Ulagosa area at an altitude of approximately 300 feet. Emergency services from both Navarra and La Rioja responded to the scene, deploying firefighters, medical teams, and a medicalized helicopter.

The two occupants, both men, were conscious during rescue operations. One 25-year-old man suffered serious multiple trauma and was airlifted to the Hospital Universitario de Navarra. The second man sustained a head injury and a fractured ankle; he was transported to the Hospital San Pedro in Logroño with a reserved prognosis.

The Spanish State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) and the Guardia Civil's judicial police are investigating the causes of the crash.
