Two injured in Streatham scaffolding collapse
Two people were taken to hospital after being trapped beneath collapsed scaffolding on Streatham High Road in south London on Sunday, October 25. The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. during Storm Boelo, which has brought high winds to the United Kingdom.
Passersby reportedly rescued the two individuals from the wreckage before emergency services arrived. The London Fire Brigade dispatched crews from Tooting, Lewisham, West Norwood, and surrounding stations to manage the scene. The London Ambulance Service deployed paramedics from its hazardous area response team to treat the patients at the scene before transporting them to a hospital.
While some reports linked the collapse to the high winds of Storm Boelo, official statements from emergency services have not confirmed the specific cause of the collapse. The identities of the injured and the specific scaffolding contractor involved have not been released.
