Two killed in fatal car crash in Hungary's Komáromi district

A severe traffic collision occurred on a notorious bend near Hetény in Hungary's Komáromi district on Sunday. A BMW driver lost control on a sharp right‑hand curve, crossed into oncoming traffic, and collided head‑on with a Skoda Fabia that was carrying three generations of a local family. The impact was fatal for the 31‑year‑old woman in the Skoda and her 76‑year‑old mother, who both died at the scene. The woman's 51‑year‑old mother survived but sustained serious injuries and was air‑lifted to hospital. Police are investigating the exact cause of the crash and the responsibility of the BMW driver.

The road section, locally dubbed the "death bend," was closed following the accident while authorities conduct a thorough technical examination.
