Two killed in workplace incident at Banagher Precast Concrete

A father and daughter have died following a workplace incident at the Banagher Precast Concrete manufacturing facility in Co Offaly, Ireland. The incident occurred at approximately 11:40 am on Monday, September 28, 2026.

The victims, a man in his 50s and a woman in her 20s, were pronounced dead at the scene. The family is originally from Romania but had lived and worked in the local area for many years.

Banagher Precast Concrete issued a statement expressing “deep sadness” and describing the event as a “devastating tragedy.” The company stated its priority is supporting the families and cooperating with statutory bodies.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA), Gardaí, and emergency services are investigating the circumstances of the deaths. Post-mortem examinations are scheduled to take place at Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore.
