Two lawyers killed in ultralight aircraft crash in Calabria
Two lawyers, Carlo Arnulfo, 64, and Angela Buccico, 55, have been found dead following the crash of their ultralight aircraft in the Fuscaldo mountains in Calabria. The Tecnam P2008 had departed from Capo d'Orlando and was en route to Sibari when it disappeared.
The wreckage was located in the Laghicello area after a witness provided crucial information that helped Alpine Rescue teams narrow the search radius. The aircraft was found in a heavily vegetated area and had been consumed by fire. Rescuers from the Air Force had to use a winch to descend 45 meters through debris to reach the site.
An investigation has been opened by the Prosecutor of Paola, Domenico Fiordalisi, to determine the cause of the accident. Authorities are investigating whether the crash was caused by sudden fog, mechanical failure, or other factors. Forensic experts and Air Force specialists will work to reconstruct the flight dynamics and examine why safety systems or parachutes were not deployed.
