Brazil Federal Police Disrupt International Cocaine Smuggling at Guarulhos Airport
The Federal Police launched Operation Échec de Livraison at São Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport, targeting a scheme that used fraudulent luggage tags to ship cocaine to Europe. The investigation stemmed from information shared by French authorities after a seizure of about 43 kg of cocaine at Paris airport in October 2025. Six arrest warrants and seven search‑and‑seizure warrants were issued. Four suspects have been arrested so far, and authorities are working to identify all members of the criminal organization.
The operation aims to dismantle the network that concealed the narcotics in checked bags, exploiting mismatched flight and passenger data to evade detection.
