Two young women from Pergamino were seriously injured during a police pursuit in Arrecifes, Argentina. The incident occurred early Sunday morning when officers attempted to intercept a white Volkswagen Gol that had evaded a checkpoint near the intersection of Avenida Merlassino and Roque Sáenz Peña.

The vehicle reportedly drove in the wrong direction and engaged in evasive maneuvers, leading to a chase that ended on National Route 8 at kilometer 180. During the pursuit, police opened fire on the vehicle, striking two occupants. One 21-year-old woman is in critical condition in intensive care after undergoing surgery, having lost a kidney. Another woman, aged 23, was also wounded and requires neurosurgical attention.
