Two men arrested in Oaxaca for femicide in Istmo de Tehuantepec

The Fiscalía General del Estado de Oaxaca (FGEO) executed an arrest warrant against two men, identified as A. G. R. and A. G. O., for the femicide of a woman in the Istmo de Tehuantepec region. The victim left her home on the night of 9 June 2026 in Santo Domingo Tehuantepec and was found dead early on 10 June on Avenida Héroes de Nacozari in the Vixhana neighbourhood, with multiple stab wounds.

Investigators, working under the femicide protocol and a gender‑perspective approach, gathered forensic evidence, interviews and other data that led to the suspects’ capture. A. G. O. was identified as the victim’s partner. Both suspects have been placed in judicial custody pending further legal proceedings.
