Two men arrested in Oosterwolde over massive Rotterdam cocaine haul

Police in the Netherlands arrested two suspects—a 29‑year‑old man from Zwolle and a 41‑year‑old man from Oosterwolde—after linking them to a sea‑container shipment that contained 375 blocks of cocaine discovered in the Rotterdam harbor. The investigation began with a traffic stop on the Nanningaweg in Oosterwolde, where officers seized a white Volvo and detained three occupants. Phones taken from the vehicle revealed information about the cocaine shipment.

The suspects were later re‑apprehended on 14 July; the Oosterwolde man was taken by the Dienst Speciale Interventies (DSI) at Mastenbroek, and the Zwolle man was also arrested. Although a court initially ordered their immediate release on 17 July, the public prosecutor appealed, and a regional court imposed a 14‑day custodial order. The investigation remains ongoing.
