Two men charged after alleged Muswellbrook stabbing

Two men, aged 19 and 40, have been arrested and charged following an alleged stabbing in Muswellbrook. The incident occurred on Sydney Street in the early hours of Friday, September 11, when a 23-year-old man was reportedly assaulted and stabbed by two unknown males.

Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before he was transported to a hospital in stable condition. Following an investigation involving the Hunter Domestic Violence High Risk Offender Team and the North Region Operation Support Group, police raided a Muswellbrook residence. During the search, officers allegedly seized knives, cannabis, and other items linked to the assault.

Both suspects were charged with wounding a person with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The 19-year-old also faces a charge of disguising his face with intent to commit an indictable offence, while the 40-year-old faces two counts of possessing a prohibited drug. Both men were refused bail and are scheduled to appear in court in November.
