Two men fatally shot in Quepos, Costa Rica

On Saturday afternoon, two men were ambushed and shot multiple times while seated in a vehicle in the Rancho Grande area of Quepos. The attackers arrived on a motorcycle, opened fire with high‑caliber weapons and fled the scene. The victims were identified as 53‑year‑old Costa Rican citizen Morales and 43‑year‑old Nicaraguan citizen Cruz.

The Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) secured the location, collected 64 shell casings as evidence and is reviewing video footage and witness statements to determine the motive and identify the assailants. Autopsies have been ordered and the case remains under active investigation.
