Two men jailed in Wales for sexual offences against children

Two men in Wales have received prison sentences for separate sexual offences involving children.

Jaswinder Singh, 61, was sentenced to eight years in prison following a trial at Caernarfon Crown Court. Singh was convicted of conspiring to traffic two teenage girls and supplying them with cannabis as part of a grooming gang in Rhyl. The court heard that Singh attempted to persuade a 15-year-old girl to travel to London with him under the guise of looking after his dog, but the victim managed to escape and alert police.

In a separate case, James Miller, 49, was sentenced to 16 years in prison for historic sexual offences committed against a girl between 1993 and 2001. Miller was convicted of rape and multiple counts of indecent assault and gross indecency. The victim reported the abuse to police in 2023. Miller is subject to an indefinite restraining order and sex offender notification requirements.
