Two men sentenced to prison for child exploitation in US and Canada

Two separate legal proceedings have resulted in significant prison sentences for individuals convicted of child sexual exploitation in the United States and Canada.

In the United States, Luke Stephen Crouse, 35, was sentenced to 27 years in federal prison for the sexual exploitation of a minor. Crouse used online chatrooms to coerce a minor into sending sexually explicit content. He has prior convictions for similar conduct involving undercover agents. Additionally, he was ordered to serve a consecutive sentence in Virginia for multiple counts of attempted indecent liberties with a child and production of child pornography.

In Canada, a 29-year-old man received an 18-year prison sentence for sexually abusing and impregnating a 14-year-old girl in 2024. The offender, who had previously served time for possessing child pornography, pleaded guilty to sexual interference and breaching court orders prohibiting contact with minors. The judge noted the case represented a horrifying escalation of sexual interest in children.
