Kulgam Terror Attack Kills Two Migrant Labourers, Triggers Relief Payments
On the night of July 31 2026, unidentified terrorists opened fire on two migrant labourers from Chhattisgarh at a brick kiln in the Kelam area of Kulgam district, Jammu and Kashmir. The victims, identified as 24‑year‑old Deepak Ratre and 28‑year‑old Bhopinder, were critically injured; Deepak died on the way to the hospital and Bhopinder succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the Sher‑i‑Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences.
Security forces immediately cordoned off the site and launched a large‑scale search operation to locate the assailants.
