Two minors injured in ride collapse at Tona town festival in Catalonia

A ride at the town festival in Tona, Catalonia, malfunctioned when a platform door opened while the attraction was in motion. The incident occurred shortly before midnight on the final day of the celebration. Eight of the nine people injured were minors, including two children who suffered multiple fractures and were taken to the hospital in Vic for treatment. Three other injured persons received care at the scene for contusions, and three were also transferred to the Vic hospital. The attraction has been sealed off pending a technical inspection by authorities as an investigation into the cause of the failure continues.

Local officials are reviewing safety protocols for festival attractions to prevent similar accidents in the future.
