Germany and Austria report multiple fatal and serious traffic accidents

Multiple traffic incidents across Germany and Austria have resulted in various injuries and fatalities. In Germany, an 18-year-old motorcyclist died following a crash near Schwarzhofen. In Berchtesgaden, a 36-year-old cyclist died after a suspected collision with a deer on the Roßfeld-Höhenringstraße.

Several high-impact accidents occurred on major highways. On the A61 near Mendig, a van driver suspected of falling asleep caused a three-vehicle collision, leading to a two-hour closure and a ten-kilometer traffic jam. On the A49, a vehicle fire and two severe accidents involving an Audi and a semi-trailer resulted in three people being critically injured. On the A656 near Mannheim, a 17-year-old motorcyclist sustained multiple fractures after colliding with a van.

In Austria, a frontal collision between two cars on the B63a in Oberwart required firefighters to use hydraulic tools to rescue two trapped drivers. Additionally, a three-car accident in Piberbach left at least two people with minor injuries. Other reported incidents include a drunk driving accident in Ovelgönne involving two men and a collision in Gummersbach that injured three people.
