Two Napolitan Women Banned from Sant’Egidio alla Vibrata for Four Years After Elder Fraud

The Questore of Teramo, Pasquale Sorgonà, issued two four‑year exclusion orders (Divieto di ritorno) against two women from Naples, identified as C.C., 37, and B.I., 57, both with prior police records. The women defrauded a 70‑year‑old resident of Sant’Egidio alla Vibrata by posing as Carabinieri, claiming the victim’s son had hit a pedestrian and would be arrested unless a sum of money, gold or jewelry was paid. After the victim filed a complaint, police from Frosinone recovered the stolen items and arrested the suspects. The ban prevents the women from re‑entering the municipality for the duration of the order; violation can lead to six to eighteen months in prison and a fine of up to €10,000. The measure is part of local preventive efforts against scams targeting elderly citizens in the Val Vibrata area.
