Two residents of Redwood City died in separate motorcycle crashes in the Palo Alto area.

Irma Elizabeth Oxlaj-Vargas, 38, was killed on August 20 after being struck by another driver while traveling on Highway 101 through East Palo Alto. The California Highway Patrol has arrested an 18-year-old in connection with this crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Approximately 12 hours prior to that incident, 24-year-old Pedro Armando García Hernández was struck and killed while operating his motorcycle on El Camino Real near the Stanford Shopping Center.
