Two rural workers found dead at Los Horcones estancia in Santa Fe
Two rural workers were found dead and charred at the Los Horcones estancia in Aguará Grande, San Cristóbal department, Santa Fe. The victims, identified as Carlos Maidana and a man with the surname Rostan, were temporary workers from Chaco province tasked with repairing and installing fences.
Police arrived at the scene on Sunday afternoon to find a corrugated metal shack completely destroyed by fire, containing fragments of at least one body. A second charred body was discovered a short distance away near a bonfire. Investigators also found a burned pickup truck (license plate XJF 872) and various rural tools at the site.
Forensic specialists noted what appeared to be bloodstains and drag marks on the vehicle. While the case is provisionally categorized as a suspected homicide followed by suicide, Prosecutor Hemilce Fissore is investigating whether a third party was involved in the incident.
