RXZ Members 8.0 rally in Malaysia sees multiple fatal crashes
The RXZ Members 8.0 motorcycle rally was held in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. Participants travelled together on the East Coast Highway (LPT1) toward the event. Within 24 hours three riders died in separate accidents on the highway: a 19‑year‑old from Klang lost control of his Yamaha LC135 and was struck by a Perodua Myvi near Kilometer 112.3 in Temerloh; a 44‑year‑old rider crashed his Yamaha 125ZR at Kilometer 184.9 in Maran; and another rider was killed after his bike was hit by a Yamaha RXZ at the same kilometre point in Maran. In a separate incident a family – a pregnant woman and her 13‑year‑old son – were injured when a Yamaha RXZ ridden by a 24‑year‑old participant collided with their Honda Beat at a traffic light in Kampung Bulu Gading, Kuala Terengganu. Organisers, led by Mohamad Faizal Mat Ali, had changed the rally slogan to “Yang Santai Pasti Sampai” and pledged zero fatal accidents. Police investigations are ongoing under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
