Fatal crash on Argentina's Route 9 near Las Peñas kills child and driver

On Sunday a head‑on collision occurred on National Route 9 at kilometre 805 near the town of Las Peñas in Córdoba province. A Renault Duster and a Nissan Frontier struck each other violently, killing the Duster’s driver and a four‑year‑old girl who were travelling together. Four other occupants sustained varying injuries and were taken to the Hospital San José de la Dormida for treatment. Police, firefighters and emergency personnel sealed the roadway, interrupting north‑south traffic and installing detours while a forensic investigation seeks the cause of the impact.
