Two Separate Deaths Reported in El Paso, Texas

A woman estimated to be about 60 years old was found dead in a residence near Ascarate Park in the south‑central part of El Paso on Saturday afternoon. Police detained a 30‑year‑old man who was present at the scene under suspicious circumstances, though no charges have been announced. El Paso Police spokesperson Adrian Cisneros said the investigation is in its early stages and there is no immediate danger to the community.

Separately, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office reported the death of an inmate at the El Paso County Detention Facility early Saturday morning. The inmate was discovered unresponsive during a routine physical check, and despite life‑saving efforts by medical staff and the fire department, was pronounced dead. Authorities, including the Texas Rangers and the Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit, indicated no signs of foul play and are conducting a standard investigation.
