Two separate drug trafficking arrests reported in Brazil
Two distinct drug-related incidents were reported in Brazil involving female suspects.
In Rio Branco, Acre, two women were arrested after attempting to smuggle narcotics into the Dr. Francisco de Oliveira Conde Penal Complex. During standard body scans conducted by the Institute of Penitentiary Administration and the State Penal Police, authorities detected anomalies in both visitors. A 28-year-old woman was found with three packages of suspected cannabis and three packages of suspected cocaine. Shortly after, a 20-year-old woman was found with three packages of suspected cannabis hidden on her body. Both were taken to the Central Flagrant Station.
In Rondonópolis, Mato Grosso, a mother and daughter were detained following a police operation in the Alfredo de Castro residential area. Acting on an anonymous tip regarding drug sales, the Military Police Support Group (GAP) intercepted the women. During the approach, suspects attempted to discard plastic packages. Officers recovered several stones of suspected cocaine base, additional portions of the substance, 14 ziplock bags, a precision scale, and a small amount of cash. The women were transferred to the First Police Station for investigation.
