Two Separate Homicide Incidents Reported in Minas Gerais, Brazil

A 76‑year‑old man was arrested during a traffic‑stop operation on the MG‑431 highway near Pará de Minas after police discovered an outstanding arrest warrant for assault. The arrest was uneventful and the suspect was taken to the local police station.

In a separate incident on the MGC‑120 road in the Barra district of Santa Maria de Itabira, a 38‑year‑old man killed a 64‑year‑old man who had allegedly tried to shoot him. The younger man disarmed his attacker, fired back and was later taken into custody. The victim died at the scene.

Both events occurred in the state of Minas Gerais on 11 July 2026 and involved police investigations of violent crimes.
