Two separate knife attacks in Wales and England result in jail sentences

In Swansea, Wales, Craig Godfrey and Michaela Nicholls have been jailed following an assault on a woman’s former partner. In August, Godfrey attacked the victim with a knife on St Helen’s Road, causing a neck wound, while Nicholls used a dog lead during the incident. Godfrey received a 10-year extended sentence for wounding with intent and possession of a knife, while Nicholls was sentenced to four years for wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

In York, England, Matthew Nigel Watson was sentenced to three years in prison for a stabbing that occurred at a victim’s home in Holgate. The incident began when a group of acquaintances gathered outside the victim's flat, shouting threats. When the victim opened the door, Watson forced his way inside and stabbed him five times in the head, neck, and arm with a jagged-edged knife. The victim required 24 stitches but was discharged from the hospital the following day.
