Two separate shootings in France leave victims in Troyes and Toulouse

In Troyes, Aube, a man in his thirties was found dead from a single gunshot to the chest on the morning of 1 August. Prosecutor Isabelle Verissimo said the victim, born in 1995, died from a wound that hit the aorta. The investigation has detained several people, who have since been released, and is exploring multiple leads. No weapon or drugs were recovered at the scene, and the exact location of the shooting remains unclear.

In Toulouse, a night‑time shooting on 2‑3 August injured two teenagers and seriously wounded a young man in the abdomen. Police pursued a suspect vehicle, which fled toward Pibrac, turned back, and was finally stopped in Colomiers. Two men, aged 18 and 25, were arrested and will be questioned. Several weapons, including at least one military‑type firearm, were found in the vehicle, and ballistic analysis is ongoing. The case is being handled by the organized crime division, with investigators seeking a motive and any links to drug‑trafficking activity.
