Two separate traffic accidents injure drivers in Austria

On Monday morning near Vorau, a 60‑year‑old driver suffered a medical emergency, likely severe hypoglycaemia, and lost control of his car. He was not wearing a seatbelt, the vehicle left the road, struck a parked car and then hit the wall of a house before coming to rest in the garden. The driver was air‑lifted by helicopter to the Oberwart clinic with injuries of unspecified severity.

On Tuesday evening on the B60 between Reisenberg and Unterwaltersdorf, another driver lost control of his vehicle for an undetermined reason. The car crashed into several traffic signs, briefly left the road and then veered toward an oncoming vehicle, which avoided a head‑on collision by steering into a field. No fire broke out. The injured driver exited the car, received first aid from emergency medics and was taken to hospital; the other motorist was unharmed. Local fire brigades responded, cleared the scene and restored traffic flow.
