Two serious road accidents in Germany injure drivers and close major routes

A 29‑year‑old driver under the influence of alcohol lost control of his Audi on the B417 between Obernhof and Nassau, overturning the vehicle after striking a safety wall and a rock face. He suffered only minor injuries and was taken to hospital; the crash forced a three‑hour closure of the road while police, fire and rescue services cleared the scene.

On the Staatsstraße 2241 between Wetzendorf and Lauf, two cars collided, leaving two occupants with light injuries. The incident caused a full road closure and an estimated €75,000 in vehicle damage. Police are still investigating the cause. Fire brigades from both towns secured the site and managed the vehicles, including a mild‑hybrid model whose crash‑recovery system was deactivated.

Both accidents disrupted local traffic and prompted emergency response from police, fire services and medical teams.
