Two serious traffic collisions in Upper Austria injure four people
A car overturned on the L29 near Egg in the evening of Friday, injuring a 24‑year‑old driver and a 25‑year‑old passenger. Both were taken to hospitals in Bregenz and Dornbirn, respectively, after a negative breath‑alcohol test. Emergency services from rescue, ambulance, fire‑brigade (20 personnel) and police responded to the incident, which caused significant vehicle damage and damage to a nearby field.
Later on Friday morning, a severe collision occurred at the intersection of Sattledter Straße and Fischlhamer Straße in Edt near Lambach. A black Citroën and a black Hyundai collided, sustaining heavy damage. Two occupants required rescue; the Red Cross provided on‑site medical aid while firefighters handled the extraction and clean‑up. The road was closed for about 45 minutes, with traffic diverted onto side routes.
Both accidents prompted multi‑agency emergency responses and resulted in injuries requiring hospital treatment and temporary traffic disruptions in the region.
