Bárbara Camila Aragón found dead in Rosario suitcase

The body of 26-year-old Bárbara Camila Aragón was discovered inside a suitcase wrapped in a blanket in the kitchen of a boarding house in Rosario, Argentina. The discovery occurred after her family reported her missing following a period of lost contact.

Authorities have identified Eliel S., a 37-year-old former police officer, as the primary suspect. Schiffo had been dismissed from the force in 2021 following a conviction related to narcotics trafficking. Investigators believe the victim and the suspect had coordinated a meeting at the location prior to the crime.

A key piece of evidence emerged from a rideshare driver who reported receiving a WhatsApp message from the victim requesting to be picked up from the residence on Juan José Paso street. The autopsy determined that the cause of death was asphyxia.

The case is being investigated as a femicide by prosecutor Marina Bertolotti of the Specialized Unit for Highly Lesive Violence (UVAL).
