Two teachers killed in armed attacks in Sinaloa and Colima
Two teachers were killed in separate armed attacks in the Mexican municipalities of Escuinapa, Sinaloa, and Manzanillo, Colima. State prosecutors are investigating both incidents under feminicide protocols.
In Escuinapa, 39-year-old Carolina Beltrán Romero, a special education teacher and municipal treasury official, was shot and killed inside her vehicle. Investigators recovered shell casings at the scene and found a message attributed to a criminal group.
In Manzanillo, Noemí Isabel Ríos Torres, a professor at the Instituto Superior de Educación Normal del Estado de Colima (ISENCO), was also executed by gunfire. The attack occurred on Avenida De las Rosas while she was driving with her children.
