Two tourists die in separate incidents in Spain and Italy

Two separate fatal incidents involving tourists have been reported in Spain and Italy.

In Spain, a 45-year-old British tourist drowned off the Costa Daurada near Salou. According to reports, the man jumped from a tourist ferry traveling between Cambrils and Salou in an attempt to swim to a beach bar after being denied alcohol on board. His 42-year-old brother entered the water to follow him but survived. Despite maritime rescue efforts, the man could not be saved. The Guardia Civil of Tarragona is investigating the circumstances, and an autopsy is pending.

In Italy, a 56-year-old English tourist died following a medical emergency while hiking in the Zingaro Nature Reserve in Sicily. The man collapsed on a coastal path while vacationing with his wife. Due to the rugged terrain and the lack of a regional medical helicopter equipped with a winch, rescue teams from the Alpine and Speleological Rescue Service had to reach the man on foot. Emergency medical personnel attempted resuscitation, but the efforts were unsuccessful.
