Head-On Truck Crash on Hanoi’s Thang Long Bridge Injures Drivers
Around 4:43 a.m. on 30 July, two trucks (license plates 49C‑200 and 89H‑083) collided head‑on at pillar 67 of the Thang Long Bridge in the Phú Thượng ward of Hanoi. The drivers, Đỗ Hoàng Duy T (born 1988, Khánh Hòa) and Bùi Văn H (born 1991, Phú Thọ), were seriously injured and trapped inside the heavily deformed cabins.
Fire‑ and rescue‑police teams from zones 3 and 14 arrived quickly, deployed specialized equipment to cut open the cabins, and extracted both drivers by about 6:05 a.m. The victims were transferred to Hospital E for emergency care. The crash severely damaged the front ends of both trucks, blocked the bridge and caused a prolonged traffic jam. Road‑police units diverted traffic and began a forensic inspection, reviewing onboard and roadside cameras while testing the drivers for alcohol and drug use.
