Two Ukrainian tourists killed in Antalya traffic accident

Two Ukrainian women, Valentyna Bondar (66) and Olha Shapoval (54), died following a traffic accident in the Mahmutlar neighborhood of Alanya, Antalya. The victims, who had relocated to Germany due to the war in Ukraine, were visiting Turkey for a holiday.

On the night of September 25, a vehicle driven by 20-year-old C. Ç. struck the women as they were attempting to cross the road. Despite medical interventions at Alanya Training and Research Hospital, both women succumbed to their injuries.

The driver, C. Ç., was detained by gendarmerie teams and subsequently arrested by a criminal court. The bodies of the victims were released to Vitalii Bondar, the son of Valentyna Bondar, and were taken to Kurşunlu Cemetery for burial. It was noted that the victims were related by marriage, as Olha Shapoval’s daughter is married to Vitalii Bondar.
