Two undercover Dearborn police officers shot in Dearborn Heights

Two undercover Dearborn police officers were shot during an incident in Dearborn Heights early Friday morning. The shooting occurred around 2:42 a.m. near the intersection of Inkster and Van Born.

According to reports, the officers were attempting to pull over a tow truck when the driver fled, leading to a confrontation and subsequent gunfire. The two officers were treated and released from Corewell Health in Taylor and are expected to recover.

The suspect was also shot during the exchange and is currently hospitalized in critical condition. Michigan State Police is leading the investigation into the incident, which involved a significant crime scene at a Citgo gas station.
