Two Veles residents suspected of defrauding elderly man in Struga

Two residents of Veles, aged 67 and 42, are suspected of defrauding an 88-year-old man in Struga of 300,000 denars. The incident occurred on August 6.

The suspects allegedly deceived the elderly man by claiming he could see the wife of one of the suspects, who was purportedly from a foreign country, if he delivered the money. To secure the transaction, the suspects provided a bag they claimed contained approximately 10,000 euros as a guarantee. However, after receiving the money, the suspects failed to return, and the victim discovered the bag was empty.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has filed criminal charges against the two individuals for fraud under Article 247 of the Criminal Code.
