Two violent crimes reported in Vienna's Favoriten district

A 20‑year‑old man attempted to break into shops in the Favoriten district of Vienna by riding an e‑scooter into the glass sliding doors of a shopping centre. Police arrived around 21:45, found the door forced open, and arrested the suspect, who was carrying a combination pliers. An examination detected drug use, and the investigation continues.

In a separate incident the same night, a 57‑year‑old resident of Favoriten saw a 31‑year‑old man breaking into his parked van. The resident confronted the intruder from his balcony, leading to a hand‑to‑hand fight during which the older man struck the burglar several times in the face. The burglar suffered facial injuries, was treated at a hospital and taken into custody, while the 57‑year‑old was reported for assault.
