Two women killed in multi-vehicle crash in Veracruz
Two women died following a multi-vehicle collision on Thursday morning on the Minatitlán-Coatzacoalcos highway in the municipality of Cosoleacaque, Veracruz. The accident occurred on the stretch between El Jobo and the Canticas airport.
Reports indicate the crash involved a Ford Explorer, a Nissan NP300 water delivery truck, and a Quetzalcóatl line passenger bus. The incident reportedly began when the Ford Explorer attempted an overtaking maneuver but failed to return to its lane in time, resulting in a head-on collision with the bus. The impact caused the Ford Explorer to spin and strike the Nissan NP300.
Emergency responders and Civil Protection personnel confirmed that both women in the Ford Explorer died at the scene. One victim was thrown from the vehicle, while the other was trapped inside. Authorities cordoned off the area, causing traffic delays, and the State Attorney General's Office has launched an investigation to determine the exact causes and assign responsibility.
