Two women reported for door-to-door fraud in Riva del Po

Two women, aged 66 and 52, have been reported to the Carabinieri following a door-to-door fraud targeting an elderly couple in the Berra district of Riva del Po.

In June, the women gained entry to the victims' home by posing as affable household goods salespeople. After presenting a catalog, they convinced the couple to sign a contract for two mattresses at a disproportionate cost of nearly 5,000 euros. The victims realized they had been deceived only after the women left and subsequently filed a complaint with the Berra Carabinieri station.

Investigations revealed that the suspects have prior records for similar fraudulent activities. The Carabinieri have officially filed charges for fraud against both women and have issued a warning to the public to remain cautious of strangers proposing home-based sales or contracts.
