Two-year-old boy undergoes surgery after Dogo Argentino attack in Córdoba

A two-year-old boy, identified as Mateo, underwent surgery at the Hospital de Niños in Córdoba following a severe attack by a Dogo Argentino in Villa Caeiro, Santa María de Punilla.

The child suffered significant facial injuries and cranial contusions. Medical teams are working to preserve his left eye, which was seriously compromised during the attack. While the child remains in intermediate care under close monitoring, health authorities stated he is not in life-threatening condition. Future reconstructive plastic surgery may be required.

Police reports indicate the dog belonged to the family and entered the premises after a door was left open. This incident follows a recent case in Córdoba involving a three-year-old killed by a Pitbull, renewing public debate regarding animal attacks.
