Two young fundraisers support Romanian orphanage camp
Two young friends from Okehampton, Bella Jackson and Bella Willcocks, recently returned from Romania after participating in a summer camp for children from an orphanage in Lipova. The trip was supported by the Devon-based charity Bunatate Romania si Moldova.
The girls exceeded their original fundraising goal of £250 by raising nearly £1,200 through various activities, including selling homemade fudge, merchandise, and participating in a fancy-dress parkrun. The funds provided a special day out with meals and activities for the children, additional camp supplies, school support, and a new trampoline for the orphanage.
The week-long, Survivor-themed camp took place in the foothills of the Transylvanian Alps and featured team challenges, drama, and crafts for children aged eight to 13.
