Twobays brewery to open gluten-free beer hall in Collingwood
Mornington Peninsula-based brewer Twobays is expanding into Melbourne with the opening of The Freehouse, a dedicated gluten-free beer hall in Collingwood. Located in a warehouse on Rokeby Street, the 170-capacity venue will feature 24 taps pouring entirely gluten-free beers, including ales, stouts, lagers, and seasonal specials.
In addition to the beverage program, the venue will offer a Latin American-inspired menu that is entirely coeliac-friendly. Head chef Matthew Kennedy, who previously worked at Higher Ground and Vue du Monde, is designing a menu that focuses on high-quality ingredients that work within gluten-free constraints. Notable dishes include beef empanadas made with cornmeal and Argentinian provoleta.
